Called to Serve
Our marriage has never been easy! We have encountered health problems, financial struggles, infertility, and all of the stresses that come with a dual-income family. After growing us through these difficulties, God gave our marriage renewed purpose. Michael was very involved with our church's children's ministry at the time, and Alecia had served as Director of several childcare centers for over ten years. In our ministry to kids, we both came to realize that no one has as much influence on the spiritual life of a child as his/her parents. This revelation gave us renewed focus on making our marriage a success, and sparked a passion for the marriages around us.
In February of 2008, Alecia and I took a long weekend off and attended a Christian marriage getaway produced by FamilyLife. God used this event to call us to serve as missionary staff with this powerful ministry.
